The Centre's main objective is to make education accessible to all in Namibia and beyond (including SADC and the world at large). The Centre leverages the e-Learning platform, multimedia technologies, and expertise to facilitate online teaching and learning. Regular evaluations will be conducted to ensure that the Centre's programs meet the expectations of stakeholders, including students, the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA), and industry partners. What is Distance Education or Part-time Studies?
Distance and online education affords students with an opportunity to study on a non-full-time basis. In other words, studying while working, after-hours, or from a distant location. Currently, there are over 6000 registered distance and online mode students.
Students that used to study on distance and online mode were housed. There was a change in how distance and online students used to be considered at GSEI. That changed since 2026.
